I just returned from Turkey and France. Istanbul is a fantastic place. The Turkish people are wonderful. We will go back. I found a jewel of a hotel right in the middle of all of the tourist attractions in Istanbul. We were able to walk everywhere including to the harbor. The hotel is the Kybele Hotel. It is owned by three brothers. I spent a lot of time with one of the brothers by the name of Alpastian Akbayrak. His nickname is Alp. Alp really understand customer service. He cooked breakfast for me one morning and I can tell you he makes a great omelette. The hotel has only sixteen rooms which are very unique with beautiful Turkish decor. The food is terrific and breakfast is included. Every employee in the hotel gave us great service and I was happy to get free Wi Fi. Check out the hotel at: www.KybeleHotel.com. Our room had over 100 Turkish hand made lighting fixtures. It was magical to turn the lights. When we asked Alp where to have lunch or dinner he would walk us to a restaurant and introduce us to the owner. He was great at advising us what to do and what not to do as well as where to go and where not to go. If you go to Istanbul, be sure to try to get a room at the Kybele Hotel. You will be glad you did. Say hi to Alp for me.
Just finished my second book, The Customer Rules which will be published in Feb. 2013. My new Turkish friend Alp, already knows that the customer rules. You will hear more about Alp and others in my new book.
A contact of mine Jeffrey Berger just published his book, The Family Devotional Guide to Disneyland Park Magic Kingdom Park. It describes 42 themed activities to do before, during or after your Disney vacation.. He has created a fun way to communicate Christian values for you Christians out there.
My good friend Brad Rex just published his book, The Surpassing Life…52 Practical Ways to Achieve Personal Excellence. Brad is the former Vice President of Epcot and Executive Vice President of Hilton. This is a great book for anyone wanting to go from good to great with their life.
The last update is that I will be out of pocket for a couple of weeks and have asked Brad Rex to be a guest blogger for me until I return. Brad has lots of great leadership and management content to share with you. You will be happy that you have followed his posts.
Have a great weekend everyone…Lee
