We Are Having a Great Holiday This Year!

We had a magical Christmas  – Sunshine my 90 year old mother in law, the young Cockerells, my son Daniel, his wife Valerie and our three grandchildren Jullian, Margot and Tristan and friends joined us for our traditional Christmas Eve feast. The five kids (our three and our friends’ two), ranging in age from 8 to 14, still want to sit at their own table, which is a small child sized table with kiddie chairs. I asked them when they thought they would be ready for the adult table and they said never! We always pull silver pudding charms at the end of the meal and this year every kid got one – I think they scoped out the bowl beforehand. We then played charades, another yearly event. The children are almost better than the adults! The favorite guess this year, with giggles and in jest (from the boys) was “the dance of the sugar plum fairy.” This morning Sunshine and the young Cockerells arrived by 9:15 – we had a stocking and gift opening frenzy and then had brunch. The young folks left and Sunshine, Priscilla and I took a morning nap – with a repeat nap in the PM. It’s been a wonderful holiday, one which Priscilla and I have especially enjoyed with the blessing of good health this year and we still have a New Years Eve feast to come. Last year was not fun with Priscilla being so sick and me ending up with six months of depression. It really feels good to be well. Enjoy every minute and make sure you are doing the right things with the time you have left.. Love and best Christmas wishes to all  and to all happy New year 2010….Lee
