On Sept. 15, invited guests and cast members gathered at Disneyland Park to celebrate a window dedication ceremony honoring former senior vice president of operations, Greg Emmer. During Greg’s 39 years of service, he made a huge impact on cast members not only at the Disneyland Resort but also at Walt Disney World.
“The windows on Main Street are a great tradition that started with Walt Disney dedicating a window to his father, Elias,“ said Ed Grier, Disneyland Resort president. “Greg Emmer really helped shape the culture of Walt Disney Parks and Resorts and it’s a privilege to honor him in this way. Through his hard work and caring attitude, he has left a legacy here at the Disneyland Resort that he will always be remembered for.“
Friends, fans and past co-workers, including former Disneyland executives Jack Lindquist and Ron Dominguez, attended the dedication ceremony. Mickey Mouse performed the unveiling, revealing Greg’s window located above the cast member dedication near the Main Street Cinema.
“Greg is special to me because I worked with him for so many years at Walt Disney World and here at Disneyland,“ said Marty Sklar, executive vice president and Imagineering ambassador. “As far as leaders are concerned, he is right up there at the top of my list. Greg is one of the most dedicated and caring cast members I have ever known. He was always a great partner to Walt Disney Imagineering.“
“I love it — it really pops,“ Greg said. “I did not believe having a window dedicated to me was something that would ever happen. That window is there because I made a contribution and I hope I made a difference.“
Greg had some inspiring words for the cast members of Disney Parks.
“Just keep doing all the great work you have being doing,“ he said. “The Disney brand is what it is today because of hard-working and dedicated cast members who make a difference every day.“
Greg’s window, designed by Michael Warzocha of Walt Disney Imagineering, reads:
The Cast Doctor
Celebrating our 50th, operating in many lands around the world
“Every Cast a Perfect Fit“
Greg A. Emmer
Specializing in Casting Since ’68

A fantastic honor. Every time I walk down Main Street in the Magic Kingdom, my eyes are drawn to the Main Street Diary window that reads, ” Lee Cockerell, Editor in Chief.” Everyone that visits Disney World should take a look.
Greg, congratulations on this great honor! It is living proof that quality will always win in the long run, be it in people or product!
