Today Is Almost Gone Forever

In Asia  the day is over, in Europe and Africa today has six hours to go, in America on the east coast  it is noon, nine in the morning on the west coast and  six a.m. in Hawaii.

What did you do today that made any difference in your life or somebody else’s life? I mean a real difference that you and they will remember and be thankful for.

We do a lot every day but do we do very much that matters? Put in your day planner each day at least one really important thing to make a difference in your life or someone else’s life.

That is my thought for the day.

PS: Went to my hotel restaurant today in Frankfurt for breakfast. It took 15 minutes before anyone served me coffee. Everyone was busy cleaning tables and resetting them from previous guests who had departed. I guess they did not read my blog earlier this week that was titled, “What’s Important Now.” Always take care of humans before other activites with objects.

The following is a nice letter I received about my speech in Rochester on Tuesday to the Small Business Council. Over 500 people bought a ticket to come hear me. Rochester is a really nice city with very nice people….They made me feel special!

Hello Mr. Cockerell..
My daughter attended your presentation  this week in Rochester, NY.  She was very impressed and told me so many wonderful things that you passed on from your life to hers, both personal and for her business sense.  You connected with her in three areas: what it takes to raise children, how to function successfully in the business world, and caring for your wife.

My husband passed 5 yrs. ago from a rare brain disease, and we went through a tough time.   Both of my children were a huge help and support.  At the time, I hated that they had to go through that with me, but I am now convinced it has had an important effect on who they are.

And they are both great… Responsible, smart, successful, courteous, appropriate… everything I worked my butt off helping them to be.  She loved how you told your audience it is a constant work in progress… Even now, at 30 and 24, I tell them what I think, if I feel that it will help make them a better person… Never ending.  I also tell both of them, what I did, what I gave up, and how I loved making them into the great people they are today, and if they do not have what it takes, the constant effort, then get a few cats instead…

She is responsible to report back to her dept. on the business aspect of your talk.  She is very excited to share her experience with her colleagues…

I am glad she heard you speak.   She sometimes has difficulty paying attention for long periods of time, and she said, she did not have that problem during your talk.  Thanks much
