Forget The Past

Forget the past and focus on the future.

Forget the Past, and Focus on the Future!

Okay, so 2008 got away from you, and you never got around to doing those really vital things that you know would help you in many ways with your life.

You meant to improve your time-management skills . . . but you never got signed up for that Time Management class like the other people did.

You meant to sit down and talk to your manager about what you needed to do to get that job that you really wanted . . . but you never got around to making that appointment.

You meant to lose thirty pounds . . . but you never got around to starting new eating habits—and you gained another five pounds.

You meant to get into better physical shape . . . but before you knew it, another year had passed and you just never got around to starting a new habit of exercising several days a week.

You meant to get those annual checkups scheduled to make sure that you stay healthy and, God forbid if there was anything, that it would be caught early  . . . but you never got around to making those appointments and now you could have diabetes, gum disease, glaucoma, and you still don’t know it because you still have not made those appointments.

You meant to take that course so that you would be more prepared for that job the next time it came up    . . . but the enrollment date passed, and you plan to do it next year.

Well, next year is here starting now soon . . . and 2009 will be here before you know it!

January 1 has always been a traditional time to make a New Year’s resolution.  I don’t like that concept too much because it really limits the number of days out of the year to start taking care of important things in your life.

My theory is that every morning is a good time to think about the things that you should take action on that will create a better life for you, your family, and your loved ones.

This way you have 365 chances to get started . . .  and in life, timing is everything.  Next New Year’s  Day may be too late.

So I hope that each and every one of you will just take a few minutes to think about the important things that you need to get started with this year,  and  GET WITH IT!
